Solar PV stands for Solar Photovoltaics, which is the generation of electricity using energy from the sun. Using solar panels mounted on the roof of your home or business, you can harness and produce your own energy. This helps lessen your reliance on other sources of energy as well as being better for the environment and saving you money in the process.
  • Will my house be suitable for Solar PV?
Here at Solar PV Donegal we offer a personal survey of your home that will be able to tell you if your house is suitable and which system would be most appropriate. Please contact us for more information!
  • What is a kW?
A kilowatt is simply a measure of how much power an electric appliance consumes. Solar PV systems are rated in kilowatts (kW). A 4kW Solar PV System would require 10 solar panels installed on your roof.
  • What Solar PV system will suit my needs?
The size of the Solar PV system you choose will depend on a number of factors; the amount of electricity you use in your home, time of day you are at home and the orientation of your roof. The team at Solar PV Donegal will carry out a survey of your home, and will allocate a system that will suit your needs.
  • What are the benefits of having Solar PV?

  • Would my house be eligible for the SEAI grant?
A SEAI Grant may be available to you if your house was built before and occupied by 2021, and can be applied for before installation, by you, the customer. You can see this process on the SEAI section of our website. Once the work is complete, Solar PV Donegal will submit your SEAI paperwork. Your home will then have to be BER Accessed, and your grant payment will then follow.

An electric vehicle charger is equipment that connects an electric vehicle (EV) to a source of electricity to recharge electric cars.
  • Where would the charger normally be installed?
